Creating a Keyphrase, Location Based Page Using Athena SEO Pro AI

How to Build Location-Optimized Content with Athena SEO Pro AI

Boost your local SEO and drive more targeted traffic with location-specific content. This guide walks you through the process of generating a highly optimized, keyphrase and location-based page using Athena SEO Pro AI. Whether you’re targeting a city, region, or neighborhood, this tutorial will show you how to harness AI tools for maximum visibility in local search results.

Step 1

Starting on your WordPress Dashboard, hover over Athena SEO Pro. In this demo, we’ll walk through the process of creating a Local SEO Generated Content page using Athena SEO Pro.

Step 2

Click “Athena SEO Pro”

Step 3

On the Athena SEO Pro AI Dashboard, you will find options for:

  • Analyze Competitor

  • Generate Content

These tools help you build highly optimized content using AI.

Step 4

The Analyze Competitor feature allows you to scan a competitor’s webpage. It analyzes text, images, links, and other on-page elements from the URL you provide. Once the analysis is complete, Athena SEO Pro AI will generate enhanced, structured content tailored for Google Search, embed geotargeted location data, and create a draft webpage ready for publishing.

This feature is especially useful for building location-based webpages or local blog posts.

Step 5

The Generate Content feature creates content based on the company name and keyphrase you provide. Unlike the Analyze Competitor option, it does not rely on an external URL.

This tool is ideal for generating standard webpages or blog posts that are not location-based.

Step 6

For this demo, we’ll be using the Analyze Competitor option. We’ll walk through each input field step-by-step. For our example, we’re generating content for a company called Capital District Digital.

Step 7

In the Keyphrase field, Athena SEO Pro offers autocomplete suggestions—just like Google Search. For this example, we’ll use the keyphrase Local SEO.

Step 8

As you type, the autocomplete tool displays top search phrases. Since Local SEO Services appears as a top suggestion, we’ll select that.

💡 Tip: The selected keyphrase becomes both your page title and main heading. For best results, capitalize the first letter of each word.

Step 9

The Location field also uses autocomplete. Begin typing your target city, and suggestions will appear. In our demo, we intended to use Albany, New York. After entering “Alb”, the full location Albany, NY, USA appeared and was selected.

Step 10

In the Competitor URL field, enter the address of the website you want Athena SEO Pro to analyze. In this demo, we used Capital District Digital’s homepage due to its rich and current content.

⚠️ Note: Be sure to review your competitor’s terms of service and privacy policy before submitting their URL for analysis.

Athena SEO Pro will then generate SEO-compliant content optimized for local relevance and Google’s ranking guidelines.

Step 11

The final input is a Content Type dropdown, where you can choose between creating a Page or a Blog Post. The layout and content structure will vary depending on your selection.

Step 12

Step 13

For this demo, we’ll be generating page content.

Step 14

Click “Generate Content” at the bottom of the page when you’re ready for Athena SEO Pro AI to begin generating your content.

Step 15

This step may take a few minutes. On the right-hand side, under AI Activity Log, you’ll see real-time updates as the tool analyzes and generates content.

Step 16

Once complete, a new draft page is created with your chosen keyphrase and location as the page title and heading.

All content is editable and formatted in SEO-optimized HTML, following Google’s best practices for local search.

Step 17

Depending on your site’s layout, you may also need to:

  • Add the page to your main menu

  • Link to it from another page

  • Create a homepage button for it

These actions help strengthen your internal linking for better SEO.
